2019 Battle Of The Bands Rules & Prizes

Battle Of The Bands Contest Rules:

• To Enter:
  • Post a video or audio recording of your entire band playing a song (see song criteria below) on one of the following social media platforms:
    • YouTube
    • Facebook
    • Soundcloud
      • Be sure that your post is set to Public or our judges will not be able to see it, and your entry will not be considered.
    • Copy the URL link to your entry and email it to:
      • Mail@MurphysGuitars.com
    • We will post all valid links meeting the song criteria to our Facebook page
    • Our panel of judges will review all entries, and select 4 finalists
      • Contestants must be available to play for the judges at their assigned time on Saturday, June 8^th in order to be eligible.
    • One additional finalist will be decided “Crowd Favorite” based on the number of Likes & Shares on the Murphy’s Guitars Facebook Wall
      • Crowd Favorite will be selected based on the total number of likes and shares on the original post on Murphy’s Guitars’ Facebook Wall. Likes and shares outside of this post will not be counted.
    • Entries must be submitted before Monday, May 27^th 2019
    • Song Criteria
      • Contestants may submit an original or cover of an existing song, but all cover songs must be identified as a cover, and contain the original song title and the artist version they are covering
      • Song lyrics must be Family Friendly. Songs with obscene subject matter, use of profanity, or songs of a suggestive nature will not be considered
      • Only 1 song per contestant
    • Performance Rules
      • Contestants must be available to play between the hours of 10AM-1PM on June 8^th 2019 in order to be eligible
      • Each band must play One Original & One Cover
      • All finalists must play the song they used to enter the contest, and were selected for.
      • Performers will be expected to bring their own equipment, and will be limited to a 15 minute setup time
      • Performances will be limited to 15 minutes. Performances exceeding 15 minutes will be asked to stop, and will be judged based on what was played in the allotted time
        • If your band is selected in the finals please send a detailed list of what your band will need to perform to Mail@MurphysGuitars.com
