MS Benefit Concert 2014

On the night of Friday, May 9th at 7:00pm Murphy’s Guitars will sponsor the 14th annual Multiple Sclerosis Unplugged Concert, a benefit for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.  The concert will be held again this year at the Wight House Reception Center, 95 N. Main in Bountiful, Utah.  Featured artists will be regulars Mike Murphy, Jake White, and Kat Tingey, with special guest artist, IAMA Vice President, Bob Cantonwine.

Bob’s daughter, Sara Visser, was diagnosed with MS in 2006.  Her family knows first-hand the difficulties associated with this debilitating disease.  Bob is especially excited and honored to participate on this concert to help raise funds that will be donated to the MS Society at the annual MS Bike Ride the end of June.

The concert was conceived by Mike Murphy after a friend of his was diagnosed with MS. He collaborated with Jake White and Kat Tingey in the year 2000 to present a concert in support of those who have MS for the purpose of raising funds for the MS Society.  It has become a very popular concert event in Bountiful each year.  In the past the concert has hosted the likes of Peter Breinholt, and Cori Connors along with several other local musicians.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $7.00 for children under 12 and a $40 for a family of six with up to three adults. Available online at EventBrite.com, at Murphy’s Guitars, 133 N. Main in Bountiful and at the door the evening of the concert. More information available at www.msconcert.org.
